Rufus H. Rivers Named Managing Director of RLJ Equity Partners, LLC

RLJ Companies, LLC ("RLJ") announced today that Rufus H. Rivers has joined the organization to serve as Managing Director of RLJ Equity Partners, LLC ("RLJ Equity"), a private equity firm formed in association with The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm with more than $46 billion under management.

RLJ is controlled by Robert L. Johnson, founder and chairman.

Rivers will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of RLJ Equity, including fundraising, deal sourcing, and portfolio management. RLJ Equity makes expansion and buy-out investments in middle-market companies, with a focus on the media, consumer products, and professional services sectors. RLJ Equity differentiates itself in the market based on substantial proprietary deal flow, a team with deep transactional and operational expertise, and a proven entrepreneur, Robert L. Johnson, as a founder.

Rivers joins RLJ Equity Partners from The Carlyle Group where he was a Managing Director and Co-head of Carlyle Mezzanine Partners, a $436 million fund focused on private debt and equity investments in middle-market companies.
