Sun Capital Partners Japan K.K. ("Sun Capital Japan"), the Japanese adviser to Sun Capital Partners, Inc. ("Sun Capital"), today announced that it has appointed Mr. Akitoshi ("Aki") Nakamura as its Chairman and CEO effective immediately.
Most recently, Mr. Nakamura served as Vice Chairman and Director of Nikko Principal Investments Japan Ltd. ("Nikko"), a private equity firm. Prior to joining Nikko, he was a Managing Director and member of the Board of the Industrial Revitalization Corporation of Japan ("IRCJ"), a government-sponsored entity established to assist troubled companies to restructure and reorganize their businesses, from 2003 to 2007. Prior to the IRCJ, Mr. Nakamura served as a Managing Director of Ripplewood Japan, a private equity firm, from 1999 to 2003, and spent six years from 1993 to 1999 with Citibank Japan, serving as General Counsel and General Manager of the Individual Investment and Strategic Planning departments. Mr. Nakamura also practiced law with Nishimura and Sanada and Sullivan and Cromwell. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Laws degree from Columbia University.
