Newly appointed Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, Leslie D. Hale has responsibility for the company's financial matters and manages the acquisition and disposition of real estate assets. She will be involved in raising capital from institutional investors. Hale previously served as Vice President of Real Estate and Finance for the company, where she was responsible for securing financing for each hotel asset, managing the execution process for all transactions and overseeing treasury functions. She also designed, built and directed the portfolio management arm of the company. Prior to joining RLJ in 2005, she was an Associate Director in the GE Real Estate - Strategic Capital Group, where she provided structured finance products to institutional clients. She also served as a Vice President in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of GE Commercial Finance, responsible for managing the strategic review and due diligence process for prospective transactions. Before rejoining GE, Hale was an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co., advising clients across industries on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance matters. Hale received her undergraduate degree in Finance from Howard University and earned her MBA from Harvard Business School.
Kate B. Henriksen, a veteran RLJ executive, has been appointed Senior Vice President of Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management. She will be responsible for managing the underwriting process on RLJ's potential hotel and mixed-use investments, tracking the performance of the company's investment portfolios, assisting with capital raising efforts and managing relationships with investors in RLJ's investment funds. Henriksen recently served as Vice President of Investment Analysis, where she was primarily responsible for underwriting and due diligence on potential hotel investments. Since joining RLJ, Henriksen has overseen the underwriting on completed transactions totaling over $2.5 billion. Prior to joining RLJ in 2002, Henriksen served as a Director of Development Planning and Feasibility at Marriott International. Henriksen's experience also includes consulting on and appraising over $4 billion in existing and proposed lodging facilities for HVS International. Henriksen graduated from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration with a B.S. degree with a concentration in Real Estate and Property Asset Management.
