Wellspring Capital Management LLC ("Wellspring"), a leading private equity firm, today announced that Alexander E. Carles and Joshua C. Cascade have been promoted to partner. Both were previously principals at the firm.
Mr. Carles has been with Wellspring for seven years. Prior to joining the firm in 2001, he spent several years at Whitney & Co., where he was a senior associate in the firm's middle market buyout group. During his time at Whitney & Co., Mr. Carles worked on a range of transactions in industries such as plastics, consumer products, and telecommunications and media investments. Prior to Whitney, Alexander was a high yield research analyst with Lehman Brothers, Inc. Mr. Carles graduated with honors from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.
Mr. Cascade joined Wellspring in 2002 from Odyssey Investments, where he spent four years working on a number of leveraged acquisitions and recapitalizations of middle market companies. Prior to joining Odyssey, Mr. Cascade was an associate with The Blackstone Group in the restructuring group, advising clients on corporate turnarounds, debt restructurings and Chapter 11 reorganizations. Mr. Cascade received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.
