Capital Z Investment Partners, LLC announced today its sponsorship of Aviator Fund Management, L.P., a Connecticut-based asset management company focused on investing in the key Asian markets, employing multiple strategies and asset classes, including capital structure arbitrage, catalyst driven, relative value volatility, convertible arbitrage and quantitative trading strategies. Aviator, founded in July 2003, is managed by three senior partners, William Park, Koji Takasumi, and Peter Sparks.
Aviator's prime brokers are UBS, Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.
Over the last 12 months, including Aviator, Capital Z has sponsored three hedge fund management businesses.

Mr. William Park is Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Aviator as well as manager of firm-wide strategy and business development. Prior to co-founding Aviator, Mr. Park was the Managing Director of HBK Japan, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of HBK Investments, L.P. During his tenure at HBK, Mr. Park performed several roles including sole Portfolio Manager of the Asian Equities business unit as well as Founder and Head of HBK's Tokyo operations. Mr. Park began his career as a U.S. equity derivatives trader for O'Connor & Associates.
Mr. Koji Takasumi, Partner of Aviator, is focused on firm-wide Risk Analysis and the Quantitative Trading strategy. Prior to co-founding Aviator, Mr. Takasumi was a Senior Vice President at KBC Financial Products where he co-managed the Japanese Single Stock Derivatives Trading Book. Mr. Takasumi began his career as a Quantitative Strategist and Derivatives Trader at D.E. Shaw & Co., L.P.
Mr. Peter Sparks, Partner of Aviator, is responsible for managing Operations Technology. Prior to co-founding Aviator, Mr. Sparks was Vice President and Manager in Goldman Sachs Japan's technology division in Tokyo where he oversaw building and support of high-volume, back office systems for both the fixed income and equities divisions in Japan and Asia ex-Japan. Mr. Sparks began his career with Apple Computer as a software developer.
