For the 11th consecutive year, the San Diego Software Industry Council will present its Software Investment Conference at the La Jolla Marriott on October 20, 2005 from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The conference will showcase the most innovative software companies in Southern California and host dozens of top national and local venture capital firms, serious angels and corporate investors. Mitch Lasky, CEO of JAMDAT Mobile, Inc., will give the keynote address.

Revenue generating software companies seeking $500,000 to $5 million can apply for a chance to "pitch" their business plan to the conference audience of about 50 investors and hundreds of software industry opinion leaders. Companies can represent a wide variety of technologies including infrastructure, wireless, Internet and embedded software.

Approximately 15 software companies will be selected to give an eight to 10 minute presentation to an audience of local, regional and national venture capitalists.

Selected applicants will attend a free presentation training and dry-run designed to help them develop a winning investment pitch. Participants will view a successful presentation, hear from three investors on what they are looking for in a company, and get tips from a professional coach on how to deliver a dynamic presentation.

Finalists will present their business plan at the conference and will be invited to attend a private dinner the night before where they can network with the investors and business leaders.
